SUMMER DRESS - VESTIT D'ESTIU

Ahir vaig comenc,ar a fer aquest vestit despres de veure el blog de la Heidi on vaig trobar aquesta tutorial. No he seguit el passos al peu de la lletra (perque m'he equivocat varies vegades i he hagut d'anar improvisant). Ara nomes em falta comprar els botons i cosir els tirants. De moment tinc agulles posades per aguantar-los per poder fer la foto, es que no podia esperar per ensenyar-vos-el!

I started making this dress yesterday morning after seeing the tutorial in Heidi's blog. I haven't really followed every step as it is shown (I made some mistakes so I had to improvise a bit along the way).

I only need to buy buttons now and sew the straps. At the moment I have pins to hold them in place for the photo... couldn't wait to show it!

PATCHWORK III - the Never Ending Project Update - acabant el Projecte Interminable

Per fi ja estic veient el final d'aquest projecte! i per fi ja tinc el meu petit taller muntat!

Ara falta comprar la goata de coto i escollir una tela per la part de sota. Encara no he trobat un estampat que m'agradi per la part de sota, costa una mica.

Tampoc he decidit si fare l'encoixinat a ma o intentar trobar algu que me'l faci amb la maquina de brac, llarg. No m'atraveixo a fer-ho a maquina, mai no ho he fet i no vull aventurar-me amb una cosa tan gran. 

At last I can see the end to the Never Ending Project! and at last I have my little workshop too!

Now I only need to buy the batting and the backing fabric. 

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to hand quilt it or try to find somebody with a long arm sewing machine...I have never quilted with my sewing machine and I don't dare venturing with something this big. 

MA PER LA NELL - MA FOR NELL

 Aquest es el meu segon intent en l'art de Scrapbook i crec que anem millorant a poc a poquet... Un Mini Album per l'amigueta de la Hana, la Nell.
He seguit aquesta tutorial molt facil del blog PAPELITOS que he trobat a traves d'un dels blogs que segueixo: MOMENTS DE...
De moment tinc pocs materials pero ja fa uns dies que vaig recopilant paperets, cintes, botons... aixi que el proper projecte sera mes maco.

This is my second attempt at scrapbooking and I think we're slowly getting better... A Mini Album for Hana's friend, Nell.
I used this tutorial from the blog PAPELITOS which I found through one of the blogs a follow:   MOMENTS DE...
My stash is still a bit bare, but I've been gathering bits of paper, ribbons, buttons... so the next project will look better.

PA - BREAD

Hi ha moltes receptes per fer el pa tipic irlandes, que tant pot ser blanc o integral ("white soda" o "brown soda"i el pa integral que l'anomenen "brown bread").  Cada casa deu tenir la seva recepta i si nevegueu per la xarxa en trobareu centenars....
Hi ha gent que li agrada mes sec i d'altres que els hi agrada mes melos...pero fa temps que no trobo la recepta per fer el que m'agrada (un entremig)

Doncs per fi he trobat la que buscava! el cas es que hi ha un ingredient que no se si el trobareu a Catalunya: el serum de mantega. Pero m'han dit que es pot substituir per iogurt sencer natural o tallant la llet amb una cullerada de suc de llimona i deixant-la reposar durant 5-10 minuts per despres fer servir la quantitat que es vulgui. 

Aqui va la primera recepta del pa blanc de soda.

There are many recipes for Irish bread, every household has probably their own one. Some people like their brown bread drier others like it wet... I finally found the recipe for the one I like (in between!).

Here's the first recipe, White Soda.

PA DE SODA BLANC

450 gr farina blanca

15 gr sal

5 gr bicarbonat de soda

50-60 gr de sucre blanc fi (o menys si no el voleu tan dolc,)

300 ml serum de mantega

WHITE SODA

1 lb plain white flour

1 tpsb salt

1 level tsp bread soda

2 oz of white caster sugar (or less if you don't want it sweet)

300 ml buttermilk

1. Poseu en un bol tots els ingredients menys el serum de mantega. Feu un buit al mig i afegiu el serum a poc a poc mentres aneu remenant perque quedi tot ben lligat. Ha de quedar una massa no gaire seca, pero que quedi compacta i no s'enganxi als costats del bol.

2. Poseu la massa sobre una superficie enfarinada i li doneu forma de bola. Ella mateixa s'aplanara una mica. Feu una creu amb un ganivet i la poseu al forn precalentat a 180C durants uns 30-40 minuts. Si quan introduiu un ganivet surt net ja estara llest. Deixeu-lo refredar del tot abans de tallar-lo.

1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and add the buttermilk slowly while folding in the flour. Make a dough that is not too dry and it doesn't stick onto the sides of the bowl.

2. Place the dough on a floured surface and shape it into a ball. It will flatten itself. Make a cross with a knife and placed on a baking tray, bake it in a preheated oven at 180C for about 30-40 minutes. When you insert a knife and it comes out clean it will be ready. Let it cool down before cutting it.
