Feliç diada de Sant Jordi a totes les que em llegiu des de Catalunya!

Espero que hagiu rebut una rosa ben maca i vermella i un bon llibre. Jo m'he de regalar la rosa jo mateixa i comprar-me el llibre, (no li demanis a un anti-britanic de Belfast que celebri St Jordi - per molt catala que li expliqui que es- perque St Jordi tambe es el patro d'Anglaterra... en fi, que hi farem). 

Em vaig comprar aquest llibre la setmana passada a la llar on porto la meva filla. Tenen una mena de Circulo de Lectores on pots trobar llibres a molt be de preu. Encara que ja no em considero una aprenent de patchwork penso que esta força be amb algunes tecniques que vull millorar, o que mai he provat. Vaig comprar dues copies, una per a mi i una per a sortejar entre vosaltres... A mes del llibre, tambe afegire alguna altra sorpresa que podeu veure a les fotos de mes avall...

St.George is the patron saint of Catalonia and the tradition is to buy a book and a red rose to your lover. Since I won't receive a book nor a red rose from my man, I normally get myself the book and the red rose...

I found this book last week at the kindergarten where I take my daughter. The "Book People" leave an assortment of books every month at very good prices and sometimes you find really good bargains. SO I decided to get 2 copies, one for me and another for one of you readers. I will also add some extra goodies which you can see in the pictures (2 FQ and a set of 3 buttons made by myself).

I had a really nice birthday. I didn't organise and party but I had all I wanted! My little one went to playschool in the morning, and my partner rushed to town "to get me something", so I had all the house for myself and plenty of time to finish a commissioned quilt top.
El dia del meu aniversari va ser molt maco. No vaig organitzar cap festa pero vaig tenir tot el que volia! Al mati vaig portar la petita a l'escola i el meu company va marxar corrents a "comprar-me alguna cosa". Vaig tenir tot el mati per a mi i vaig aprofitar per acabar de cosir un quilt que m'han encarregat.

When he came back, he brought me sushi for lunch, chocolates, a bunch of lilies which are filling the house with their fresh smell (I think I'll be buying lilies all the time now), and the second series of Nurse Jackie... I went to pick up Hana and we spent a lot of time outside because the weather WAS GREAT AND IT WASN'T RAINING!!! (it rained the day before and the day after!)
Then he cooked the best sesame chicken for dinner and sate beef! and we had a very nice birthday cake (good old Marks&Sparks...).

Quan va arribar, m'havia portat sushi per dinar, bombons, un ram de lliris i la segona temporada de Nurse Jackie. Vaig anar a recollir la Hana i vam passar tota la tarda a fora perque va fer un dia fantastic i no va ploure gens (va ploure el dia abans i el dia despres).

EL meu company va fer el sopar, pollastre al sesam i vedella amb salsa sate, i vam menjar un mini pastisset d'aniversari.

It's my birthday! Faig anys! - GIVEAWAY/SORTEIG!

Doncs si, el dimecres 17 em ficare un altre any a la butxaca! Recordo quan vaig fer els 11 i els 22, ara toca 33! m'agrada quan repetim xifres... tinc un dilema al cap, no se si celebrar-ho amb una mini festa o no... per una part m'agrada tenir gent a casa i fer una festa, pero si soc jo el centre d'atencio ja no m'agrada tant... Qui va ser que va dir: "si vols ser el centre d'atencio en una festa, no hi vagis!" Elisabeth Taylor???

Well yes, I'll be a year older on Wednesday 17th! I remember when I turned 11 and 22, so now it's 33! yeah! I like when you get the same digits... I'm still deciding whether to celebrate it with a party or not. I like having people at home and throw a party, but not when I'm the centre of attention... Who said "if you want to be the centre of attention in a party, just don't go", Elisabeth Taylor???
Argh... I don't know what I'll do yet...

De totes maneres aqui si que ho celebrare amb un sorteig, per que no? Com sabeu he trobat una altra aficio,  enquadernar llibres, i aquest divendres vam anar a veure la paradeta de llibres de l'Una. No vaig marxar amb les mans buides i aqui podeu veure el que podeu tenir a les vostres amb una mica de sort.

Anyway, I will celebrate here all right! You know I've discovered bookbinding recently, don't you? Well we went to the farmer's market on Friday to see Una at her stand. Of course I didn't leave with empty hands! So here you can see what you can have in your hands with a bit of luck.

M'encanten els llibres i llibretetes, en tinc un fotime! En tinc un altre per escriure totes les frases divertides que comenc,a a dir la Hana. Una altra on estic escrivint com va creixent des que va neixer, vaig escriure un durant tot l'embaras...

I love little books and notebooks, I have so many! I have one where I write things I don't want to forget, like the name of a book, a recipe, a film, something nice that I've read, the address of some interesting place... I also have one to write down all the funny things Hana is starting to say. I have a journal that I'm writing about her since she was born, (it will be for her).  I also wrote one during my pregnancy...

I have books for everything!

So here's the deal:

back to business - anem per feina

Ai ai ai... sembla que he espantat a dues seguidores despres del post d'ahir...! m'han "deseguit", ha ha! que hi farem...
Despres de la setmana de sortejos de Sew Mama Sew torna la calma, i la feina al taller continua. Estic contenta perque la llista inacabable de "coses per acabar" s'esta escurc,ant i aixo em fa sentir be perque vol dir que puc comenc,ar nous projectes!

quina alegria quan vaig rebre el primer email dient-me que habia guanyat, pero despres hi van seguir 3 mes! al menys aquest cop jo tambe vaig poder donar dos premis, un se'n anira cap a Anglaterra i l'altre cap a Qatar.

I was so happy when I received the first email telling my I was a winner, and then 3 more came in...! It was great to be able to participate this time and to give away some of my crafts too, one is going to England and the other to Qatar.

Doncs be, aqui teniu el que estic acabant ara mateix, un quilt per penjar a la pared. Es un regal d'aniversari (com sempre vaig tard) per una moooolt bona amiga. Esta fet amb retalls, m'agrada molt aquesta tecnica, i com que se que a la meva amiga li va agradar molt el quilt de retalls, vaig pensar fer-li un amb els mateixos retalls (encara em que daven un munt). Aquesta nit mentres la petita dorm, m'apalancare al sofa a cosir-hi la beta. Mes fotos del producte acabat dema!

So here is what I'm finishing, a wall hanging. It's made out of scraps. It's a belated birthday present for a good friend of mine who liked my scrappy quilt. I thought she would like something made with them same scraps. It's already quilted and tonight, while the little one sleeps, I'll be curled up in the sofa binding it. More photos f the finished product tomorrow!

I hate basting!

One finished project and an Accuquilt Go Baby giveaway!!! Un projecte acabat i un sorteig d'una Accuquilt Go Baby!

I finished Hana's pyjama bottoms and one of the tops!!! hooray!

I used this technique for the applique and it was lots of fun doing it. I'm going to make more projects using this way of aplique.

 I bought a pack of 4 tops (green, pink, yellow and white)

 and they all combined perfectly with the fabric

Vaig comprar un pack de 4 samarretes (verd, groc, rosa i blanc)

que combinen perfectament amb la tela

 I chose to do the silhouette of the elephant that appears in the print

He escollit fer dibuix de l'elefant que surt a l'estampat de la tela

Ja he acabat els pantalons de pijama de la Hana i una de les parts de dalt! per fi!

He fet servir aquesta tecnica per fer l'aplicat (a la inversa) i m'ho he passat molt be fent-ho. Fare mes aplicats seguint aquesta tecnica.

Un Any Blogejant- A Year Blogging (giveaway-sorteig)

Last month it was a year since I started this blog and I'm lucky to have 61 followers that are interested in what I do. That's why I'm hosting a giveaway, to celebrate that thanks to the nice comments I'm still here! Thank you everyone!

El mes passat ve fer un any que vaig obrir aquest blog i tinc la sort de tenir 61 seguidors que els agrada i mostren interes pel que faig. Es per aixo que faig un sorteig, per celebrar que gracies als vostres comentaris segueixo aqui! Moltes gracies a tots!

I went to my favourite bookshop (I should blog about them some day) and I found a nice book to show you how to make bags. I bought two copies, so here's one for one lucky winner. 
The second book is one I already have and I think you'll enjoy if you like cooking. It's a compilation of homemade recipes by the farmers' market of a village next to mine. I love farmers' markets and this is a really nice recipe book where you can find good Irish dishes and homemade remedies.

Vaig anar a la meva llibreria preferida (un dia obrire un post sobre ella) i vaig trobar un llibre per fer bosses. Vaig comprar-ne dues copies, aixi que un/a de vosaltres el podra tenir tambe.
El segon llibre es un que tambe el tinc i que m'agrada molt. Es un llibre de receptes recopilades per la cooperativa del mercat de grangers del poble del costat d'on visc... Hi trobareu receptes irlandeses i remeis casolans.
